Two-RF-Interfaces-In-One-Box Solution
The AE3700-T is an IEEE802.11b-based multifunction device that
has two independently configurable RF interfaces. Each RF interface can
be configured either as an AP (Access Point) interface, a static bridge
interface or a dynamic bridge interface. An AP interface enables easy
wireless access for mobile users in public areas. A static bridge interface
establishes a point-to-point wireless connection with another bridge through
the Wireless Distribution System (WDS) technology. A dynamic bridge interface
automatically establishes a point-to-point wireless connection with APs
from any vendors through the AP Client technology.
Designed for Outdoor Use
Due to its die-cast weatherproof housing, and 100% IP68 certified,
the AE3700-T can work under all rough weather conditions.
Ease of Installation and Management
Through the neat Web-based user interface of the AE3700-T, the
step-by-step installation instructions are easy to follow. And, the network
administrator can centrally manage the AE3700-T via a Web browser or an
SNMP MIB browser. The Windows-based Wireless Network Manager (WNM) utility
enables you to view all AE3700-Ts within LAN via Auto Discovery regardless
of IP address settings. The WDS link quality indicator and WDS link health
monitoring features check signal quality based on a remote point-to-point
testing mechanism for easy diagnostics. WNM provides versatile and cost-effective
WLAN management functionality, including the ability to configure, control,
monitor, update, report, diagnose and troubleshoot the WLAN via a single
Window GUI.
Flexibility With 4 Operational Modes
Bridge Repeater. In this mode, both interfaces are configured
as static bridge interfaces. Packets are stored and forwarded between
the two RF interfaces with full bandwidth 11Mbps. It's possible to use
several AE3700-Ts if the distance between two locations is long beyond
two units' transmission range.
Static AP Repeater. In this mode, one WLAN interface is configured
as an AP interface, and the other is configured as a WDS-based bridge
interface. The static AP repeater is suitable for situations in which
Ethernet wiring between the AP and the network backbone is unaccessible,
or for high cost on which the topology of the wireless bridging network
is static.
Dynamic AP Repeater. In this mode, one WLAN interface is configured
as an AP interface, and the other is configured as an AP client-based
dynamic bridge interface. The dynamic AP repeater is suitable for situations
in which Ethernet wiring between the AP and the network backbone is unaccessible,
or for high cost on which the network topology is stellar (point-to-multipoint).
Dual AP Repeater. In this mode, one WLAN interface is con-figured
as an AP interface, and the others is configured as an AP client based
dynamic bridge interface. The dynamic AP repeater is suitable for situations
in which Ethernet wiring between the AP and the network backbone is unaccessible,
or for high cost on which the network topology is stellar (point-to-multipoint).
Dual AP. In this mode, both WLAN interfaces are configured as
AP interfaces. The dual AP can handle twice the number of wireless clients
than a normal AP. It can be treated as "two APs in a box".n
